A great variety of shapes, fascinating structures - sometimes compellingly lavish, sometimes simplicity itself, but never boring. A gossamer fine body, delicate and translucent, invigorated with graphic patterns that invite touch. This is the world of 'Landscape'.

About the designer
Her client list reads like the 'Who's Who' of Italian design: B&B Italia, Driade, Molteni, Moroso, Foscarini, to name but a few. The whole of Milan lies at the feet of Spanish Patricia Urquiola. The Italians have fondly nicknamed her 'Hurricane' for the way she rushes like a tempest through the design scene, always with innumerable projects going on at the same time. Patricia Urquiola finds her inspiration in her surroundings. 'Sometimes something emotional, sometimes something very simple, everyday, that gives me an idea. For me, design is a process of surprise. You have an idea and then you mix that with other ingredients, but you never know what you end up with.' Her creations, primarily furniture but candleholders, carpets and table objects, too, are comfortable, perfectly proportioned and feature linear elegance. Only once the trend away from the practical, allowing curved forms and ornaments to become acceptable, did Patricia Urquiola dare to go for more floral decorative design: At the Milan furniture trade fare, the Moroso company exhibited the eyecatching loungers called 'Antibodi', where felt pieces are sewn together to produce blossoms.
