Simply open out the gnomon, set the compass to due north and read the time. The cosmic clockwork of the Earth and Sun never stands still and enables the sundial watch to function accurately for ever. Neither batteries nor watch springs are required.

Admittedly the HELIOS WATCH displays its own unique time, naturally occurring solar time. When the Sun is at its highest elevation at midday, it displays 12 noon solar time. It is then true noon, which divides the day into two equal halves, before noon (morning) and after noon. This time relates to the longitude on which we are currently located and it is therefore also called local apparent time (LAT).
